Mani Monday! Product Review on Sally Hansen

Happy Mani Monday Everyone! Today I wanted to do a product review on a newer nail polish from Sally Hansen. It is the Triple Shine polish. I thought I would test this polish as a stand alone polish. That’s right,  I decided to be a nail polish rebel and not use a base coat or a top coat! O know, you are thinking… “WHAAAT??? how is this possible. You NEED a base coat and a top coat for so many reasons”. Well I don’t know about you, but life gets crazy for me sometimes, so I am always looking for techniques and products that will help me save time. After all, time is money, right? That’s why this nail polish caught my eye. If this nail polish truly has triple shine, why add two steps and products to this process. I have to say that so far, this nail polish is pretty awesome!

Here is what I like about this nail polish:

– The Color range. There are bright colors, deep colors, and you can even get a creamy texture or a sparkly texture.

– The Brush. This brush is great if you are looking to paint your nails in a pinch while achieving a smooth applications.

– The texture of the polish. I only had to apply two coats.

– Finally, I love that it wears well without a base coat or a top coat.

Overall, I like it and I recommend this nail polish for anyone on the go!

Happy Mani- Monday!! A Classic Red Nail!

Happy Mani Monday everyone! The Holidays are upon us. I wanted to highlight a classic look, the classic red nail. If you pay attention to the Holiday trends this year, you will pick up hints of vintage inspiration. What better way to be in trend this Holiday season than to sport the classic red nail.

Fun Fact: A clean polished nail has been in trend since the 1930’s. Prior to the 1930’s nails were tinted red with natural oils. The classic red nail polish was most popular when colored film hit the streets in the 1950’s. During this time women started to pay more attention to makeup trends and a red lip with red nails was all the rage until the 1960’s.

Below is an awesome vintage ad that I found online. I love this ad because it depicts the hottest beauty trend of the 1950’s beautifully, don’t you?

Happy Mani Monday!!

Happy Mani Monday everyone! I am excited to share my nail geek find of the week. I have had my eye on the Revlon moon candy nail art polish. I have never taken the plunge to try it because I was not sure how the glitter would turn out. Well, The other day I was at Target and I recently downloaded the cartwheel app. If you haven’t checked out the cartwheel app, I recommend you do. The app has special savings on select items and this week the Revlon nail polish was one of those items.

I only saved a small percentage but it was enough  to get me to finally buy the nail polish. I picked the maroon nail color with rose gold glitter. I figured that burgundy color is in for fall so I might as well try it out. Overall I like the color. The color was a little watery so I got a little messy with the burgundy color. I think there are a lot of different combinations with the duo. I choose to place the  glitter at the top of my nail. You could do the glitter on top of the actual color all over the nail, you can do a fun spin on french tip nails, you can dot the glitter on, I mean really there really are a lot of possibilities to create different looks with this nail art duo. I think my favorite aspect of the nail polish duo is it’s versatility. I recommend you try it!
