Looking for a Holiday Collection?? Check Out This Video Review

While at the mall the other day, I stopped by The Body Shop in my local mall in Denver to see what they had for the Holidays. I know that the company has been focusing more on makeup. I have had some of the past eye shadow palettes. For the most part, I like the shadows that they offer. This year, I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful plum palette for the Holidays.

As soon as I saw it, I could resist and had to try the shadows on myself. I went to the mall with no eye shadow with hope of finding a fun new palette. Let’s just say, Mission Accomplish!

Here is what I like:
I like the color and texture range of the eye shadows. There is a smokey plum palette and a more natural bronze palette.
I like that each eyeshadow palette can be used for a natural eye shadow loo or a more dramatic smokey look.
I like the packaging of the highlight shimmer for the face!

Happy Mani Monday!

So this week  I thought I would give the increasingly popular Ombre nail look a try. I have to admit that it was harder than I thought it would be. I ended up having to try it a couple of time, but I am glad that I tried it because it is a super fun nail fashion! I ended up going from pale pink to purple, which was a more safe choice but I have gotten a few compliments on my color choice, so I am feeling pretty good about this weeks look.

I think this look would be super pretty if you went from a light blue to a dark blue. It would be a super great nail look for a bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, or just a girls night out. I love how nail polish has become an accessory that completes any outfit! Don’t you??

Let’s take a look at what I used:

Image

I used a mixture of nail brands. From the left, I used an Urban Outfitter nail color, a Cover girl nail color (its a limited Hunger Games color, how fun is that??), a Color Show nail polish from Maybelline, and a MAC limited nail color (however there is a similar shade by L’oreal.

Here is a quick overview of what I did:

– First, I painted my nail with the cover girl nail color.

– Then, I painted the lightest color to the darkest color. I painted stripes of the colors and layered them while they were wet.

This look took a little longer than I thought it would. I watched Zoolander while I painted my nails. I recommend you Netflix your favorite movie, have a mini Hulu marathon, or listen to a a good audio book while doing your Ombre nail fashion. Have you tried the Ombre nail look? If so what is your favorite color combination? Leave a comment below today!

Finishing Touches

ImageToday I want to talk about the importance of a brides finishing touches. Yesterday I stopped by an new bridal shop in Denver, Emma and Grace, with a friend. The shop is such a beautiful shop with a really beautiful inventory of dresses. While we were speaking with the owner, she was walking us through her top selling dresses. My friend asked her if she tells brides what are the most popular? I thought this was a great question! All brides want to feel special and they want to have a one of a kind wedding. The owner of the shop had the best answer. She spoke on how every bride is different and it is how they finish the look that will make them one of a kind and truly bring out the brides personal style. I couldn’t agree more!

One of my guilty pleasures is to look at the celebrity magazines and look at the “Who Wore It Better” pages. I think I love looking at these types of articles because it shows how important the finishing touches are to an overall look. It’s the little details that can make or break an outfit, like accessories, makeup and hair. This is why I started Pretty Bride Shop. I believe that the little details will be what will help a bride show case her personal style on her big day even if she is wearing the most popular dress.
