Looking for a Holiday Collection?? Check Out This Video Review

While at the mall the other day, I stopped by The Body Shop in my local mall in Denver to see what they had for the Holidays. I know that the company has been focusing more on makeup. I have had some of the past eye shadow palettes. For the most part, I like the shadows that they offer. This year, I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful plum palette for the Holidays.

As soon as I saw it, I could resist and had to try the shadows on myself. I went to the mall with no eye shadow with hope of finding a fun new palette. Let’s just say, Mission Accomplish!

Here is what I like:
I like the color and texture range of the eye shadows. There is a smokey plum palette and a more natural bronze palette.
I like that each eyeshadow palette can be used for a natural eye shadow loo or a more dramatic smokey look.
I like the packaging of the highlight shimmer for the face!

Happy Mani Monday!!- Tiffany blue and Black, Oh My!

Happy Mani Monday everyone!! I am so excited about this weeks mani Monday look. I was shopping at Target the other day ans saw this amazing black and silver glitter nail polish by L’oreal. I love it because it has different shapes of glitter, some chunky and some skinny. Plus, it can go over any color nail polish!! As I was looking through my nail collection I found an Elf Tiffany blue color for the summer.I kept it simple by adding the glitter to the ring finger.  I thought, this new black and silver glitter top coat is a great way to transition a summer trend color to Fall!!! check out  this weeks look!

Mani Monday! Product Review on Sally Hansen

Happy Mani Monday Everyone! Today I wanted to do a product review on a newer nail polish from Sally Hansen. It is the Triple Shine polish. I thought I would test this polish as a stand alone polish. That’s right,  I decided to be a nail polish rebel and not use a base coat or a top coat! O know, you are thinking… “WHAAAT??? how is this possible. You NEED a base coat and a top coat for so many reasons”. Well I don’t know about you, but life gets crazy for me sometimes, so I am always looking for techniques and products that will help me save time. After all, time is money, right? That’s why this nail polish caught my eye. If this nail polish truly has triple shine, why add two steps and products to this process. I have to say that so far, this nail polish is pretty awesome!

Here is what I like about this nail polish:

– The Color range. There are bright colors, deep colors, and you can even get a creamy texture or a sparkly texture.

– The Brush. This brush is great if you are looking to paint your nails in a pinch while achieving a smooth applications.

– The texture of the polish. I only had to apply two coats.

– Finally, I love that it wears well without a base coat or a top coat.

Overall, I like it and I recommend this nail polish for anyone on the go!

Thank You for reading today’s post! I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to leave a comment below. Tell me what your favorite “on the go nail polish” is. I would love to know!

A Little Vision Never Hurt Anyone Even If you Fall a few Times

vision2

As some of you know, I have been working towards making my online bridal shop a mobile bridal suite that will be perfect for Mountain weddings, weddings at an art gallery, well, any unconventional wedding venue. When I tell people my vision some people get it right away, but most people stare at me with eyes glazed over until I explain a little more. Once I add a little clarity as to what a mobile bridal suite is, the glaze disappears and they get what I am doing.

Today, I thought I would take a moment to describe my vision on this blog. My dream/ vision is to get a vintage camper and transform it into a mobile bridal suite. I will completely renovate the interior so that it is girly and comfortable. suitable for any bride to be and her bridal party. During the Wedding season (March-November),not only will the renovated camper be a space for me to work out of, but, I will rent the unit out to brides, hairstylists, and makeup artists, who need a space for the “getting ready” portion of the wedding day. During off season, I will pop up all around Colorado showcasing local designer goods and vintage items. I feel like the new wave of shopping is the “pop-up shop”. If you haven’t experienced a “pop-up” shop yet, I highly recommend you get on Facebook, Twitter, or instagram and start following your local mobile boutiques and designers.

I tried the whole online crowd funding route in June. I learned a lot, to say the least. I think the most important thing I learned is that you don’t need Kickstarter or a site like it to raise funds via crowdfunding. While those sites are Awesome for Artist, product centered companies, films, singers, songwriters, and fashion designers. It was not the best route for a mobile bridal suite that will only be serving a certain location. Once the Pretty Bride Shop crowdfunding campaign ended, I had to regroup! I had think of another way to raise the funds. I have a new plan. Here is the new plan. I am doing weekly makeup workshops with an entrance fee, I am doing various fundraising clothing swaps, and at home false eyelash parties. I have have a new game plan. I am going to get the vintage camper, I am looking at Shasta trailers, by January 1, 2014, and I have plans to have the mobile unit fully renovated by June 1, 2014! With that said, if you are in the Denver area and love supporting small business and would like to support mine, please feel free to contact me via email, shopprettybride@gmail.com.

Even though I have come across some hiccup and fallen a few times on my journey to reach my vision, I still have it and as time goes by, my vision only strengthens. I am looking forward to the day that I am blogging about the grand opening of the mobile bridal suite!

Happy Mani Monday!!

Happy Mani Monday everyone! I am excited to share my nail geek find of the week. I have had my eye on the Revlon moon candy nail art polish. I have never taken the plunge to try it because I was not sure how the glitter would turn out. Well, The other day I was at Target and I recently downloaded the cartwheel app. If you haven’t checked out the cartwheel app, I recommend you do. The app has special savings on select items and this week the Revlon nail polish was one of those items.

I only saved a small percentage but it was enough  to get me to finally buy the nail polish. I picked the maroon nail color with rose gold glitter. I figured that burgundy color is in for fall so I might as well try it out. Overall I like the color. The color was a little watery so I got a little messy with the burgundy color. I think there are a lot of different combinations with the duo. I choose to place the  glitter at the top of my nail. You could do the glitter on top of the actual color all over the nail, you can do a fun spin on french tip nails, you can dot the glitter on, I mean really there really are a lot of possibilities to create different looks with this nail art duo. I think my favorite aspect of the nail polish duo is it’s versatility. I recommend you try it!
